Set in the year 2052, this hip-hop comic tells the story of looming human extinction due to an over-polluted Earth and the solution that science, politics and big capital increasingly push to repopulate the Earth with – AI cloned GMO human beings… and zooms in on the life of one such GMO clone human – a Black man named John.
Now meet John, designed by his “mother”, Brenda’s Baby, on an AI computer and grown in an artificial womb in a lab by the DigiMate Corporation.
John’s story takes place in the city formerly known as Breezy Hills, now called Broken Hills due to its near post-apocalyptic look and dystopian set of inhabitants. Corporate parts of the city are shiny and new, but the urban residential and aging commercial districts are for the most part run-down and depressing…
Pacified GMO John resignedly bears society’s rejection of him as a soulless being and being bullied and abused as he grows up… Until his alter ego is unleashed on one day of unbearable loss, but his action to right that wrong puts him outside the law where he takes on his new life as anti-hero – John X a.k.a The GMO Man!!!
